I know this isn’t Saints related, but we better get ready to empty a Brinks truck for Michael Thomas’ new contract

I’m hoping we front load it with a ton of signing bonuses and incentives and roster/workout bonuses.

5 yr/ 115 million.
50 mil guaranteed?

But instead of 23m a year, get that cap hit number down to 18 or 19... I can live with that.

I was thinking more of 4yr/86mil or 5yr/105 mil. I don't think we will have to pay over 22 mil a year. He will not be with Drew for all of those years so could that also effect some numbers?

I’m not complaining, he deserves it. For a guy that pretty much was our only receiving threat last year and he still could not be stopped. Imagine if we get a number two how open he will be in single coverage.

Yep pay the dude. We've got the space. I don't want top become the team who doesn't invest in draft picks when they hit.

Anyone complaining about $$s, would you rather be paying top money to hopes and prayers in FA like Byrd, Spiller, Fleener. Our pay your own developed guys like Thomas, Lattimore, Kamara, Ram.?

People overreact to contract terms. The cap has and will continue to go up. $20m for skill players and $30m for QBs will be standard.

A more interesting measure would be what % of their cap space are they paying Thielen (and Cousins for that matter).

Pay the man. He deserves it. One of my favorite saints of all time. He works so hard and the only show boat thing he does is flex, which fits him perfectly. He's a beast without any fear.

the twitter noise also concerns me at times, but I think he's more level-headed than AB
