if you switch to basmati, pressure cook it with 2 times the water and cook it till 3 whistles. You will get perfect rice with rice grains not sticking to each other

this is a change you want to make, I'd switch to par-boiled rice. Lower GI than white or brown rice. Brown rice is so close to white rice on the index it's almost negligible, and it tastes like shite.

Par-boiled rice tastes like shite, too. I’d rather skip rice altogether than eat that crap.

Another vote for cauliflower rice. It’s pretty awesome.

Doc just informed me, it takes time to turn to carbs in your body, unlike white which it does immediately

It's not the rice that makes you fat, it's what you put on the rice that makes you fat. Asians eat a shite ton of rice and they don't get fat because it's just white rice. No gravy or anything.

Are you diabetic? Sounds like you may need to either cut carbs or switch doctors

As an Indian, We eat a tub of rice 2 times a day. The biggest problem with white rice in diabetes. My whole family has diabetes except me. I run and excercise while others not so much

So you are blaming your history of diabetes on white rice? It's 100% fact that they have diabetes because of rice?

Your Dr is full of shite.

Eat brown rice if you like it, but otherwise you have no reason to. If you are pre diabetic, there's likely other culprits in your diet.

Maybe just eat a little less rice? Or less often?
