Anyone on here have any experience with any of the S&W 1911? What are your thoughts?

Have an E series. Love it.

I have an E series stainless tactical model w/rail (in my avatar) but I can honestly say the Ruger SR1911 is a better value. The external extractor will probably have a longer service life than the internal design (mine has always extracted fine) but overall the Ruger is a better buy. Then again, if you like a busier slide with the fish scale serrations (the best serrations out there, in my opinion) the Smith might be a better buy.
Here's a review of the Ruger I did and I compare it some to my S&W: LINK

I really like mine. 1911 TA E series. Very Accurate. When it is new the spring to cycle the action is really stiff. My wife has a difficult time cycling it. This will likely not be an issue as I shoot it more.
Not to mention if one is in the chamber she has 8 shots. Which is plenty; hopefully.

You can always solve the ammo issue with 10 round CMC mags. They extend out the grip slightly but are well known for their reliability.

I want to pick up one of those soon.
