We were starting to get thin with all the early departures, what's the REC board think of the new guys coming in?

Of course Stingley from I hear from all accounts is damn good - does he start immediately?

Maurice Hampton - what about him? 6' 205 who has some speed.

Cordale Flott
Cordale Flott 2 - what am I missing here? 11 SEC teams offered. Gem? \

Dreshun Miller - Typical LSU CB frame here and JUCO so I like the experience... instant impact?

What do the board guru's think?

I personally like the haul... book marking it here when Flott pops off

Stingley is absolutely a day one starter. He will step into Greedy's spot and form a top notch duo with Fulton

Been hearing that a lot - that's why I was so curious about the others

even if Stingley doesnt start perimeter immediately, he'll be a great nickel until he gets up to speed. Fulton and Vincent on the outside at least early on

Believe Miller will not be in this class.

We are starting to get “thin with all the early departures”. Who has announced they are leaving? The one guy so far?

Yep, Miller is out. He wants to play CB, LSU sees him as a S. If Ward and Jones jump aboard that’s an elite haul

Kendall Mccallum is not a 3 star. IDK how recruiting services determine these star ratings, but I've seen many players who were underrated and this is another one. Mccallum is big, fast for a player his size, and strong and he knows how to play the ILB position as good as nearly any ILB I've seen in this class. IMO he is a solid 4 star and that will show when he gets on campus. Flott is underrated as well. I think we will see a lot of these 'secondary blue chippers' are much better than their ratings. I think this staff has done really well in finding and evaluating players. And that's what recruiting is all about. I mean, there's thousands of players coming out of HS every year and there's no way any one recruiting service or staff can look at film of every single one. The staffs that work longer and search more will find players with value that other's have overlooked. I think LSU has done really well at this.

Flott looks like his ceiling is high especially if he can put onnweight.

More than likely the beginning of the season will see Stingley on the field in Nickle or Dime alignments, but as a perimeter corner, not as the nickle. They will move Joseph or Vincent to Nickle.

Probably he'll be our sixth DB after the two safeties, Vincent, Fulton, and Joseph. As the season wears on, and he masters the defense, he'll move up if he merits it.

I believe he was likely referring to the end of 2017. With Fulton’s status uncertain and before Alexander came onboard late, we were definitely looking thin at CB.

I think you may have misread the post. By 'secondary blue chippers' the OP was not knocking the players or their evaluations. “Secondary” here was referring to their actual position (as in DB... CB/S). Not primary/secondary tier recruit.

Correct

DB blue chip prospects

I was just wanting to know everybody perspective on the haul this year... with us not signing much last year in that department I was curious to know if some of the guys who follow recruiting a little deeper would think we got some future stars.
