If a commit does not sign in December you have to start making backup plans. Something isn't right or there is an ego at play.

I disagree, coaches are getting fired/moved around and some guys genuinely haven’t made up their minds yet. They’re not picking curtains for the living room, this is a huge decision for them

You don't think if one of the our commitments doesn't sign in December we should not take that as a sign and start making contingency plans?

What would prevent an LSU commit from signing in December other than they're still looking around or waiting to see if a spot opens up with another team?

He's not talking about uncommitted guys, here.

If you have verbally committed to LSU and you don't sign when it's time to sign, are you really committed to LSU?

Or it also can say vice versa, maybe we arent 100% committed to them, and I think you see 1 or 2 of those.

I wasn’t referring to our verbal commits which is what I guess the post I was responding to mean, just recruits in general. I agree if you are committed and don’t sign then you are full of it

Perfect world - all of them! However, a lot of the big-time players want the spotlight to themselves so they hold off until later and continue to get pampered and treated like royalty.

Dude, you definitely have to start wondering what's going on and plan for the worst if they don't sign when given the chance after being committed for some time. It would be stupid not to. What is your logic on that one? We should just take our chances and say oh well frick it if we don't get him? Hell no. You go set up for the best player you can get in case he changes his mind, since he obviously wasn't too sure about LSU...passing at the chance to reserve his spot and honor his commitment. These kids need to learn what the word commitment means before they choose to commit to a program...that's the whole problem with some of these kids nowadays. It's a joke.

A lot of these kids seek the spotlight as a habit. That’s not necessarily a knock against them, a lot of teenagers want to be famous or crave attention. So I think for many the spotlight surrounding some of the high profile all-star games in January is too big an attraction to pass up and make their official announcement then.

Donte Starks just tweeted that he's signing in February. Apparently his brother lives out of state and couldn't be here during the early period and it's important to Donte that his brother is here.

He's visiting Kansas the weekend. You're worried about him flipping there?
