I’d imagine Mahomes, Goff & Gurley are there but I haven’t really been keeping up. We have a good team record & Drew’s breaking career records. If he has decent numbers (by his standards) & we keep winning, could he get the nod this year?

He is certainly in the running but I have to think Mahomes and Gurley are up there as well.

If the Saints find a way to get the #1 seed in the NFC by essentially beating all the other teams in contention for it, he will probably win. It will be sort of the opposite of how it has been for Brees. He may not have the best numbers, but he will get it for team success and narrative. I'm not saying he will not have earned it, but it will just be different than it has been.

Before this week, Vegas had brees as the leader.

But the constant prime time games by Mahomes may screw brees over.

Ontop of that, he's playing phenomenally. On pace for like 5000 and 50 TDs

Brees is only on pace for 5000/35

Hoping maybe he gets it as a “career achievement” award.

Closest comparison i can think of is Kobe’s only MVP. CP3 had better numbers & a bigger impact on winning that year but Kobe was Kobe & hadn’t won an MVP yet.

Vegas has him at second to Pat Mahomes. But if he keeps up his pace of no interceptions for the season or hell keeps it to single digits with a 1 or 2 seed team it would be hard not to give it to him with the press he's getting this year.

Brees has best QB rating in NFL by far. No interceptions, second best record, multiple rushing TDs. He's much more likely to keep up this volume than Mahomes. Mahomes has started throwing picks, and will continue. Will still do great in that offense. But don't forget he took over an offense that got Alex Smith the highest rating of all QBs last year.

I think Brees is favorite.

We need kc to implode like they usually do. Last year it was week 9 they began to implode.

They were 6-2, lost 4 in a row.

KC is 6-1, about to play Denver, Cleveland, Arizona, LA rams, and Oakland over the next 5.

Too bad... Won't happen unfortunately...

Unless Mahomes continues this unreal pace for the rest of the season, I think they'll give it to Brees as a lifetime achievement sort of deal

Brees just doesnt have the kind of game that wins MVPs. hes not the guy whos gonna force some dramatic highlight shite, hes an AI drone doing everything as efficiently as possible. if he can force a 20 yarder or cinch a 3 yarder, hes going 3. because thats the better value. he wears wranglers for fricks sake, hes not glamorous
