I seriously don't believe Tennessee is 50th. Unless they are just talking about store bought whiskey.

States with high Native American populations are the drunkest proving the stereotype.

I’d drink a lot too if I lived in North Dakota.

Without even looking I’m going to guess Alaska has to be on top of the list.

ETA: I’ve spent a lot of time in both Alaska and North Dakota. And from what I’ve seen, there’s way more drunks in Alaska than North Dakota.

So the top 5 are states up north where it gets cold as hell and miserable most of the year. Makes sense.

Poll is who admits it. Not who does it. Seems upside down.

That website is shite, but I've always heard Wisconsin is drunk as hell and it is #2 so makes sense.

Take out Monroe, Shreveport, etc since they aren’t actually La and that number changes drastically.

I'm from LA, lived in both AK and ND...

and a much greater percentage of the population drink more in those places...

Old people (65+) drink regularly in ND out in the bars all the time

Hahahahaha. Holy shite.

First of all, a county isn’t a “metro area”

Secondly, it’s UGA....33,000 students at a top party school in the country. This is funny as shite

Agree. Between Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville (during college football season) we knock it back. Not to mention we are the moonshine capital of the world and make some fine charcoal mellowed whiskey.

I've been to 49 states and TN isn't close...Nashville is good, don't get me wrong, but tons on TN is still dry

Louisiana only at number 17

Math must not be their strong suit. If Louisiana isn't in the Top 5, I question their entire methodology, not just math.

(My bona fides: I'm a teetotaler and have spent a decent amount of time in about 35 states.)
