Waco, we've likely crossed paths - Willard and my dad were friends back in his Shreveport days - Willie is a neighbor and friend - enjoying watching his son Hayden grow into being a very good player in his own right lately...good folks!

Where did you play with Snead?
I hit balls next to him at a club in Florida that he retired at lived and the rest of his life at, wondering if it was the same course.

A couple of those names bring back some memories. Although I am a bit older, I lived for a while in willowdale and for such a crappy course, they had some talent come out of there. Probably 15 college players over a decade or so. It was fun to be around there back then. Noto was probably the best player to come out of there although Lorio won a ton as a junior. I remember watching him shoot 62 in some high school event out there one year. Don't think either of those guys play much any more but when they do they still shoot below par. Dufrene just won the mid am at bayou oaks. All great guys and great memories. As I get older sometimes I wish I could press the rewind button.

David Church came out of Willowdale too.

When he was pro emeritus at The Greenbrier. Company I worked for owned the resort and we were entertaining customers.

Also in 1999 was playing the Old White and he was fly fishing on 15 or 16. He asked for a ride back to the clubhouse. Road in my cart for the remaining holes, read putts and was lmo funny doing play by play of three hacks playing golf. Classic line: “your swing looked great until you started moving the club”.

My dad played a round with Jack Nicklaus.

He was also a caddy on the PGA Tour for a little while, so he had some connections.
