The best players in the country often wait til last day. They can go most anywhere they want. They have to choose wisely for the sake of their careers and the prospect of playing for championships. Don't blame the kids or their families for making a tough choice to do the right thing for themselves.
Increasingly, many of the top players, when it comes time to sign, are unwilling to invest their futures in Orgeron at LSU.
Some of these guys, maybe even Surtain would have preferred to choose LSU if the prospects had been
better.

So much for the NFLSU schtick.

I wouldn't come here if I was a sought after Recruit. This place is toxic and has a bafoon at the top.

I honestly believe that the reason he seemed sad at his announcement is because his heart was at LSU but he knew it wasnt the best decision for him and his family
thats the true problem
we used to only have convince kids that they'd love it at LSU because it was obvious that it was a place to compete for championships and get ready for the NFL
now that isnt as obvious

It doesn't matter how many players from LSU went to the NFL in years past. Top recruits just care how many look like they'll be drafted in 2021-2023.
Right now, LSU looks like a program on the decline to them.

Not to mention, an incredibly negative fan base.
Who would wanna play in front of that?

Name a recruit he chose not to come here b/c of the fans.

yes, he's going to have to compete on the field to turn some of these kids around. it hasn't been that long.

Don't be so stupid. He was playing for Aranda and Raymond (the best in the country). Saban made false promises to his father and that did it.

Right, so with Aranda and Raymond, he will be playing for championships? Not with Orgeron as HC. Don't be stupid.
