I think Apple got a some really bad press over the price point being a grand and they couldn't really fight it.
But people pay close to that or more ( well over $800) for phones. I think the killer was lack of compelling features to justify the price. ( btw I'm still happy with my SE)

During today's earnings call covering the first fiscal quarter of 2018, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the iPhone X has "surpassed our expectations" and has been the "top selling iPhone" every week since it shipped in November.

Days? Try one day of normal usage. I stream stuff on mine, listen to podcasts, play some games, and do some web browsing. Usually down to 40% in the afternoon and I charge it up before driving home. I'd love for it to last a full day, and not be down to below 20% by the time I go to bed.

Maybe if you get your arse out of a classroom, $1000 on a phone wouldn’t be such a big deal for a piece of tech you enjoy using.

All this pisses me off since BlackBerry stop making phones. Why I keep my Q10. I dont need apps on my phone though.
And no it's not being an Apple hater as I have 2 ipads, 27in iMac, and just got a macbook pro. And I also have a couple android tablets too.
