Recently someone was telling me about a good place to get fried seafood, specifically a catfish dinner, close to 190/I55. I can't for the life of me remember who it was that told me, or what the place was. Any ideas?

You sure you aren’t thinking of Amite? Mikes cathfish inn is right there east of I-55

Take a look at this map and maybe you'll remember the name.

Middendorf's? A bit south of your target zone, but has a great reputation.

B & J Seafood? Not sure I’ve tried their food but its near 190 behind Hobby Lobby about a mile or so before the I55 overpass.

Btw Berrytown Produce is right next door, tried their Chicken Fried Steak recently. Meh. Wasn’t a big fan of their version of white gravy.

I was thinking Mike's Catfish Inn as well. That's off of Hwy 16 and I-55 and in Amite, not Hammond though. I don't know of any good seafood restaurants near I-55 and 190 at all.

What was the name of this restaurant? Closed now. I ate there once, was a catfish joint.
