Why are NSFW avatar and sigs allowed?

I hate worrying about this shite at work. And I don't want to turn these things off because it helps me recognize posters. With such a strict policy on marking threads NSFW, you would think this place would be tougher on avatars and sigs.

Turn off avatars and sigs. I did it years ago. Takes less time for the page to load as well.
