When interest rates go back up. Trucks are not nearly the only thing being effected. Used boat prices are retarded right now due to interest and allowing people to take 10 year notes out. I saw my old boat pop up for sale that I bought brand new in 08 for 36k sold in 2010 for 34k just get listed for 38k.
I don’t know how the government measures inflation but damn. Seems to me they got a shite ton of it going on every where you look.

Don’t you think it’s to do with all the contractors/business owners buying them with their business and taking the deduction? Meaning they are willing to pay more and the price goes up. Just a thought.

As long as consumers are willing to pay these long arse notes things will continue.
The used market increases as they increase the trade in value to sell the new truck. Hell, two people I called on Craigslist had their trucks bout by someone buying them for a used lot. They d more 3/4 ton trucks.
If people will pay 70k for a truck. They'll try to sell it next time for 71. It'll continue until the consumer stops it.

it "is" regulated, dont buy overpriced trucks and prices fall, they will keep falling continuously until you start buying them.
but you idiots are too stupid to understand life.
it really is that simple, you idiots buying them are the ones making the prices go up so high.
it wont kill you to keep your 6 year old truck and drive it another 10 years until it breaks down, and in the mean time, those $50k truck prices will drop back down to $30k when they dont sell.
but you idiots will go pay $50k for a truck and next year it will be $60k and you still buy it and the next year it will be $70k because of you idiots who will pay whatever price they ask for it so they are just taking advantage of idiots with no understanding of the value of money because they are buying $30k trucks priced at $70k

Don't buy it if the price is too high. Buy a new or used vehicle that is in your price range and learn the difference between a need and a want. Also what is wrong with your 5 year old truck?
