One guest on Fox said that he had bump stocks on several weapons and that these weapons ended up jamming, which he said is one of the problems with using a bump stock. First time I'd heard that was this morning.

The guy who said this is one of the veterans that serves in Congress right now. He was talking about his shooting experience in the military and mentioned he'd shot with a bump stock but didn't like it because it reduces your accuracy.

He definitely used a bump stock during some of the shooting. You can clearly hear the variable rate of fire in many of the videos.

Good lord. Look at you being the first to mention Obama. You say all the conservatives are obsessed when they bring him up.

The sheriff confirmed on a Tuesday night that 12 rifles had bump stocks.

And said that Paddock fired 12 volleys on Tuesday morning.

I don't think that is a coincidence.

I think you might have just made this up. I thought I had watched all the Sheriff's press conferences and never saw him say how many rifles had bump stocks.

The pictures we've seen only show ONE. The two rifles with a bi-pod don't have bump-stocks and he clearly shot those guns. The rifle on the top in the pit doesn't have one either. If you zoom in on the footstool behind the gun pit it looks like the wood composite stock of an AK, which you can't put a bump stock on.

The police have confirmed they found 47 total guns between the hotel room and his home. Of those 47, only 33 were legal purchases (and all bought since October). So he had at least 14 illegal guns. Almost assuredly these were fully automatics, otherwise they could have just been purchased legally.

14 illegal guns. Most likely modified fully autos. Why would you even use a bump stock modification if you have that many full autos?

I think maybe you're fibbing. Do you have a link to them confirming he had 12 bump stocks?

Out of his arsenal only one gun had the bump stock (based on photos) and no confirmation if it was used yet bump stocks are now the boogeyman.

Reports were saying it looked like he used modified weapons meaning he modded the lower receiver somehow to simulate a fully auto weapon.

It's just amazing how quickly everyone has jumped on the bump stock bandwagon when we really have no clue as of now what was used.

There is a video on youtube that you can watch that measures the duration of the automatic gunfire, (I linked it in another thread) it lasts around 11-12 seconds. The weapons visible in the hotel room pictures shows one that appears to be a bump stock equipped AR-15 type rifle. That weapon has a long stick magazine, not sure the capacity but it would have to be at least 100 rounds to shoot for over 8 seconds. The gun dude that put the video up says it would have to be a belt feed or maybe a large drum type magazine to shoot for 10 or more seconds.

I just read your whole post. You're way off on a lot of your facts.

CNN article stating he had 12 bump stocks according to Sheriff Lombardo

He did not have any full auto weapons according to anyone not associated with a loony bin website. The 14 you mention were ones he purchased before October of last year.

But, I wish I would've bought a dozen last week. Could have doubled my money today, legally!

I have one for an AR 15 I'll sell you. Now if they outlaw it it will be worthless. (legally) If they grandfather it in, like 1986 auto ban, then it will be gold.

This bump stock thing is complete insanity. Banning bump stocks will change absolutely nothing. It makes morons feel all warm and fuzzy inside thinking they actually accomplished something. People kill people they always have and always will. And there is absolutely nothing they can do about it.
