Found a good deal on a HDS 7 Gen 3 touch fishfinder/chartplotter.

I know it doesn't have a transducer, I got one already. The price seems too good. Check it out and let me know if I should pull the trigger.

What kind of transducer do you have? If you want the good stuff you will need more than a regular ducer.

Just using it for the gps/chart plotting and depth finder.

edit: Not sure which one I have, but I don't need the most up to date one.

2d sonar?

Side imaging and down imaging will require an LSS.

Yeah, not saying I won't ever want it, but this is going on a duck hunting boat. It will be used for fishing but must for just dropping markers and plotting paths.

Got an email from a store the other day saying the prices were dropping. I forget where.

We just used the HDI 55/200 that came with boat. Don't really need side scan and all that. Plus didn't feel like running and mounting a new transducer

I recently went from an Elite 7 to an Elite 7 TI and now I wish I had made the switch sooner. The TI is a repackage HDS gen 2. The unit is much faster and I know you said you weren't worried about but side imaging is awesome.

That's right. I heard they are coming out with new stuff so they are moving old items. Love my hds 7 gen 3.

The Ti is a really good model. My buddy has one. For the price vs features it's hard to pass up. Just a few minor features separating it from the HDS (pinch to zoom, 1 vs 2 memory card slots...)

Elite TI 7 $625 cheapest I could find. The HDS 7 is <$600. These are all without a transducer. It's why I started the thread, seems to be too cheap.

Nah the HDS with the ducer is going for $650 in most places and The basic ducer is abkut $100 in the packages. The TI is a brand new line so little to no price drop. My guess is they are coming out with a gen 4 hds soon. The drive drop is on lowrance dot com so I wouldn't worry about it.

Obviously it is that price because it doesn't have a ducer. If you don't intend on switching the ducer sure, but i their is a chance you might change the ducer just look for one that comes with a ducer.

HDS 7 gen 3 w/ hdi ducer $699
HDS 7 gen 3 w/ totalscan ducer $849

Also does the deal you found come with a power cable? You also might need an adapter to plug in your current ducer.

Cool well I'm buying one at the right time. Pickle I know you and whodat are making the SD cards for south LA. Question if you're cool with answering? How easy is it to make the cards? I've checked out the videos online and it seems not so bad, but I'm curious about the zoom ability. I want to be able to really zoom in and get a good look at where I'm located. Is this realistic on my end or y'alls end?

The cards we have made cover a lot of area. the video will get you a basic small area but he does things that aren't needed and take up a lot of spaceon a card. pickle and I used trial & error and made the maps of all south la to fit on one card. also when you zoom out it doesn't go blank the whole state will show up which is a nice feature. I've had people buy them because they got tired of trying. as far as the zoom you can zoom pretty tight and see low water, grass lines, and other features. the map card has helped me explore more for sure and helps with navigating.

let us know if you have any questions or want one.

Also, depending on the size of the area you want i can make a map with more resolution/zoom to the map.
Post your email and I'll be able to answer any other questions
