The reason I don't see Epps starting is because Combs is a grad transfer. Those guys usually don't sign somewhere unless they've been virtually assured of starting. Plus, unless he's done a 180, Epps doesn't like playing inside.
He'll be a key sub who has the talent to drag a defender out of the post, but I don't see him starting unless it's over Reath

Probably right for day one,but bet Waters is a starter by New Year's

I'd bet good $ Waters starts over Mays.
Waters is elite...Mays is solid back up.

I just hope we are patient and giv Wade time to develop a roster

Waters is the most talented player on our team by far.
The small lineup should be:
G Tremont Waters 5-11 167 Fr
G Randy Onwuasor 6-3 210 Gr
G Skylar Mays 6-4 200 So
C Duop Reath 6-11 244 Sr
F Jeremy Combs 6-7 215 Gr
Key backups for G include Brandon Sampson and Daryl Edward and big men Epps, Kir and Sims
The big lineup should be:
G Tremont Waters 5-11 167 Fr
G Randy Onwuasor 6-3 210 Gr
F Aaron Epps 6-10 214 Sr
C Duop Reath 6-11 244 Sr
F Jeremy Combs 6-7 215 Gr
Key backups for G include Skylar Mays, Brandon Sampson and Daryl Edwards and big men Kir and Sims
4 guard lineup should be:
G Tremont Waters 5-11 167 Fr
G Randy Onwuasor 6-3 210 Gr
G Daryl Edwards 6-3 165 Jr
G Brandon Sampson 6-5 184 Jr
C Duop Reath 6-11 244 Sr
We have 2 great Penetrating guards in Waters and Randy. Sampson and Mays can interchange as I like Edwards on the floor for his experience and shooting. With this lineup you want to change out Epps for Reath every 2 minutes during clock stoppage and also involve Kir during the next stoppage as this constant subbing will keep the big fellas fresh to run the floor and make some massive dunks, rebounds and kick arse blocks. The guards also by having 2 guards checking in every 2 minutes during clock stoppage, especially if we are running some full court traps so we can keep fresh. If we are making a run and some guys are hot shooting then the coach will have to make the subs at the right time.

That big lineup should play the best defense I ever saw and played called T-Matchup or 2-1-2 Zone but its a matchup zone with almost man to man like looks. One of the bottom players has responsibility for that baseline he is on and also the opposite baseline because the other forward has the wing and guard area on their side, as sometimes it turns into a trap with the guard and forward, so the other forward has to roam the whole baseline. Talk about confuse an offense as they see a zone set up when coming down the court but it changes to chaos when they strt their offense

Love the new roster but we're gonna get abused in the paint. This is a small team and our biggest guy, Reath, is not a good post defender. Could've used the 7-footer.

Great topic.
This team is loaded with guards. We will struggle against big physical teams. We will need Reath to stay out of foul trouble this year. Combs will help down low. I really hoped we could find one more big body to help in the post this year.
Sure bets to start will be Combs, Reath and Sampson.

DubaiTiger...hard to argue with much of that post on lineups.
Tigers will basically have 4 bigs...though girth and strength will be lacking.
Hope they stay healthy. Couple of those guys get dinged and NCAA bubble is out.

Waters could definitely be a starter. I think we have a solid 4 guard rotation, and that's not even counting Rachal.
I think Combs is the key. If he can play bigger than his size and give some solid minutes at PF, it will go far.

With coach wade nothing is given, u have to earn it and for yall to say Combs will just automatically start is wrong. I dont see him starting over Epps. Epps has gotten bigger and stronger under the new basketball strengh coach which will help him bang down low with the big boys. The Only for sure starter i see is Duop Reath the others have to earn it imo.

1Ox better than what we had last year. More passion and a shite load of accountability

Shouldn't we have at least one guy with a "C" for position
Just pretend Epps and Reath say F/C. If that makes you feel better...

True USEFUL centers are extremely rare in college basketball. Villanova won a national title a couple years ago with a power forward and 4 guard sized players basically. They didn't have a player over 6'6 average more than 23.4 minutes a game that season.

College basketball is getting more athletic. It is not getting taller.
