Haven't been to Little Village in a while, but they always had good steaks.

Fleming's is probably your next closest thing but I prefer Ruth's.

I'd go to Roberto's or Latil's (Houma's House).

If you want a steakhouse just go to Ruth's. Why be "different" and get an inferior meal and experience?

That said, plenty of good alternatives to a steakhouse have been mentioned.

chris's always meets expectations. I had the bone-in filet Monday night. The only other steak that comes close is in my kitchen.

Let me preface this by saying this obviously isn't the restaurants fault.

Last time I was at RC an elderly gentleman next to me had either been drinking too much or something because when they brought out his food he vomited right on the hot plate. It's gonna take a while to get that image out of my head.

I think Fleming's for steaks and crabcakes (best I have ever had and not even close).
Nino's for Italian and fresh fish speciaties.
Convinced no good BBQ in Baton Rouge area.
