First I'd heard of it. It's kind of dumb that they suggested it ruins the movie. I started thinking about it and you could say the same thing for Jurassic Park.
Jumping slightly off topic, doesn't Indy destroying the plane affect the outcome a little. I mean, the plane wasn't going to take it to a tiny island in the Med.

I would have thunk MIT would have probably been the best school in the country for any of their areas of study.

Can't really bag on MIT or Princeton in engineering or the sciences. I guess it's supposed to be nerd rivalry humor. Like when Cal fans point out that we're racking up more Nobel Prizes this year to distract from the fact that our football team sucks.
Unfortunately Stanford is accumulating more Nobel Prizes as well, plus their football team is good.
