The last bat change was overkill, it was a nice medium were it was at.
The bats in the 2008-2009 time frame were just about right. Home runs were still part of the game, but the scores weren't 21-14. I think around 80-100 home runs a year for the top teams in college baseball is fair.
LSU won in 2009 with dominating pitching. The pitchers could still hold other teams down. But the best hitters were still able to hit the ball out of the park if the pitchers made a mistake.

It's crazy that college baseball doesn't have its own page on ESPN.
Not only does it not have its own page, you first have to go to "More Sports", and then go to "College Sports", to find a page which CB merely shares with other sports. frickin' cricket, rugby, and martial arts, among others, have their own named pages.

Gorilla Ball!
Gorilla Ball was a totally different era. They used -5 instead of -3. Since that change there have been many more changes that have made the bats drastically less powerful. They basically act like wood now.

Glad this is being brought up!! One of the reason I love college baseball was the scoring aspect of the game.

I can't tell you how much this aggravates me.

This is true but it was also a time when LSU base-
ball had swagger. I will never forget those days.

this and move the outfield in a little; like MSU did.

I'd really like to see out outfield moved in a few feet.

Well then why not go back to the lively bats? They downsized for safety now they want to liven the ball to travel faster? No sense.

more livelier
Sweet Jesus.
They should just bring the bats back without the composites, IMO.

Current bats did not seem to affect Stony Brook.
