Can Signal Flares Be Shot From A Shotgun?

I have been thinking about buying some 12 gauge signal flares to keep in my hunting bag just in case...does anyone know if these type of flares can be shot from a regular shotgun?...

I suggest this as well. Or a cheap single shot. Either way, it's something that is pretty hard to damage.

yes you can but use either a crackbarrel or pump. If you shoot in an auto you will have to manually eject the shell.

Another word of caution. The powder used in these things is corrosive. clean your barrel after you shoot them.
