Just got all my Lab work back from my physical. All my numbers looked good. Only thing that was "flagged" was my Creatinine level. I'm 60+ 6'1" 205. Work out 4 times a week. Almost exclusively lifting. I do take Creatine and Citrulline that I bought in bulk. Anyway, I was doing some research and it said that taking Creatine can either cause elevated readings or cause a "false" reading? I think the top end for my age group was 1.30, mine came in at 1.40. Thinking I may ditch the creatine for a while and get rechecked. Anyone else had these results? I have no history of any kidney issues.

I might be wrong, but I think people who workout regularly tend to have an elevated Creatinine level. If that’s the only elevated marker, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Everyone naturally has a marker or two that is outside of the normal range. I think ditching the creatine supp is a bit rash. I don’t know of any negative side effects of creatine.

Yea. You could be right. I haven't had my follow up with the Dr. yet. I'm gonna run it by him. Thanks

Me neither, but taking a break from it to rule out a liver problem seems reasonable.

Taking Creatine absolutely can/will elevate your Creatinine levels. And yes, muscular people will also have higher Creatinine levels. Most Docs know to factor that in when interpreting blood work. Creatinine and GFR results will give a Doc an idea of how well your kidneys are functioning. What I recommend doing is being off Creatine for 1-2 weeks before taking your next blood work. I would also go light on the Protein in the days leading up to your bloodwork, and stay hydrated. That should give you a more accurate depiction of your true levels.

I had my physical last week. Early 40s and 175 lbs. I take Creatine during winter months and stopped about a week before physical.

It has my Creatinine range as 0.5 - 1.2 and mine was 1.1

It usually takes me about a month to lose the Creatine weight and assuming my levels are higher at moment.

Pretty much everyone who lifts has elevated creatinine levels.

I researched this the very first time I ever did blood work and mine came back high.
