Both of these were filmed in September. Pimanyoli's episode will air on Thursday Jan 19th and Boil & Roux Thursday Jan 26th on Food Network. Pimanyoli's closed on January 4th and did not even make it 4 months after the filimng. Boil & Roux is still open as of today.

What was the name of that pizza restaurant on Jefferson highway that was a Schlotzky’s for years?

I think that restaurant was on a TV show and it closed for good merely months after the episode aired.

Pimanyolis sucked.

Boil and Roux painted BLM in their parking lots then hosted block parties with shootings.

Pimanyoli people seemed nice.

frick Boil and Roux

Pimanyolis was awesome don't know what you're taking about. Their burgers were great, the tamales were the bomb and the Warren was the best sammich I've ever eaten at a restaurant. I don't know that I've ever eaten at boil and roux.

I can promise you, if you are not the right color, you will not be welcome at Boil & Roux. We lived a few blocks away and tried a few visits, was treated worse each time we went. It was as if they were saying "didn't you get the message last time cracker". You better have some very liberal colored glasses if you go, the food wasn't anything special anyway.

Pimanyoli's was a different story, good food, good people.

Didn't the husband that ran Pimanyoli's pass away
That is most likely reason they have struggled
He was running the day to day operations and the wife struggled to keep it going
Kind of sad!
It's been there a long time and they had their niche and they never tried to be something they weren't

That Mama Dell's owner was a tyrant. Wouldn't let customers adjust toppings because they didn't know enough about food to make their own decisions.

Order the pizza like they designed it or go away.

I work a few miles from pimanyoli’s and its downfall was not being able to get you in and out in under an hour during lunch. They work hard but the service just wasn’t there. It would get suggested and everyone would say we don’t have time for it today. It also started to get pretty dirty and uncared for in the last year or so

Boil & Roux is just terrible in every aspect, the food is trash and the restaurant was a dump. Everything I touched was sticky and it grossed me the frick out

Poor lady running Pimanyoli's
Just never got over husband's death
She had no clue what she was doing or how to get it back going, no business sense

Plus once you fall behind on state taxes, it's only a matter of time

The profit loss statement she gave to the show host probably wasn't even close to being accurate and then it sounds like she burned through her savings and life insurance money to try and save it

He seemed to get better shortly after the show. I went once the week before the shoot and was literally the only one in there at 7 pm on a Saturday night.

Went back after the episode aired and he remembered me and talked with me for a while

Just watched the episode. When did Pim’s go to only being open for lunch? I’ve only been for dinner.
Now granted, it may have been 10 years since I’ve been there.
It’s was an amazing place, the food was awesome. If you were lucky enough on Friday night, you got their smoked ribeye, fricking amazing.

I think it's been lunch only for more than a few years. I really don't recall it being open for dinner, but since they didn't serve alcohol, we wouldn't have gone there for dinner.

I recall it being when they reopened after COVID started. It kind of made sense but it also lead to less revenue and having leftover brisket and meats that would get microwaved the next day or longer which lead to people looking elsewhere for good fresh food.

The brisket in the episode at Pimanyoli’s looked terrible. Would try the tamales though.
