Is simplifying of bonus structure a good or bad thing

I know it depends, etc. but I’m sure there’s some literature out there on whether it ends up overall being better or worse for most workers.
Seems like with the more complex structure, you were more likely to be guaranteed money

I know…. I don’t particularly want to give specifics though. Especially since I don’t have all the info. I was curious if there was any generic literature on this

A complicated structure usually means that it is more discreet. This can work out in your favor or not, but usually will track more closely to performance than a simplified model with fewer "edge cases".

This. If your a high performer, then a more simplified structure is going to lower your bonus to the average. If your a shite employee you'll get more.
