Cutting the cord is really close to being called Splicing The Cord. The services know they've got us by the curlies.

HOpe you have reliable ISP.
How damned pathetic that we are in the 21st century and can't have reliable internet.

I'm probably paying more than cable now. I guess the no contract thing is about all keeping me around.

You didn't cut the cord. You just changed cords.

This. I cut the cord in like 2005 and the cable internet/ tv company ended up charging me less than $30 difference to have cable tv instead of just cable internet. Which is less than internet plus YouTube tv or anything else

Lol that’s damn near the same price as a cable bill. People wanted a la carte programming, but now we’re all going to be stuck subscribing to 3-4 lackluster streaming services that collectively cost as much or more than normal cable.

Consumers get played. Again.

Totally played. And all they had to do was individually put a + sign behind their names. We're not far from being right back where we started.

I "cut the cord" And between all of our TV/movie options and internet we pay $114 a month.

Centurylink Internet (gig) -- $65
Apple TV+ -- $5
Hulu - $13
Discovery+ -- $7
Netflix -- $14
Peacock -- $10

So not dissimilar from cable in the late 00's, but no contract. I really want to watch succession but I can't stomach another subscription.
