We’ll be 8-0 going into Alabama but as usual, they’ll probably beat us next year. I think our final regular season record will be 11-1 with competent coaching for a change.

2022 is the start of something good.

Why such low expectations?

C'mon man be realistic. Rome wasn't built in 1 day.
My guess would be 9-3.

You are out of your mind.

This team has talent gaps at multiple positions. Unless we fill those gaps EXTREMELY well via the portal, it's going to be a couple of years before we are contending.

We almost went 9-3 this year if it weren't for literally neandethals running this program...

We lost last second to auburn after leading all game, lost last second in OT to Arkansas after leading most of the game, and we were in Alabama end zone 3 times at the end of that game had we just kicked field goals each time we would have beaten them also...

We were literally 2 brain cells from being 9-3 this year somehow ffs.

Had orgeron let daronte play defense all year or hired literally any OC with a years experience we could have beaten ucla as well making us 10-2 winning the west some fricking how.

9-3 should be the floor next season with potential for 10-2, 11-1. 2023 is the year we make a championship run again. Book it.

Lots of work needs to be done in defense.

The knock on Notre Dame every year for the past few decades has always been their “cupcake schedule”. Let’s see how well Kelly adjusts to SEC competition on a weekly basis.

With a 2nd and 3rd string defense!

Well, seems every 4 years, like clockwork, we are at least playing for it

Chill man. A 3-4 loss season would be a vast improvement. The expectations jump in year two though.

Is it too hard for some of you to understand that there is more than one good coach in the world? Napier was a good hire. I like BK better but Florida will be tougher in future years. With Napier they will beat LSU from time to time I just believe we will get them more than they get us. Doesn’t mean it’s a bad hire or that we wouldn’t have been fine with him.

If we can fill the trenches this is more realistic than people realize.

This is why this fan base is toxic. 8 or 9 win season is a huge step forward. Be realistic so we can just pay a coach his contract throughout. I'm tired of buyouts, even though it does not affect me in the slightest.

CB - Dwight McGlothern
Nickel - Sage Ryan
CB - Cordale Flott
Reserves - Raydar Jones? Pig Cage?
OVerall, I think you have a good starting group, but you definitely need more help when inevitibly someone goes down or if Flott goes pro.

S - Jay Ward
S - Major Burns
Reserves - Toles, Davis, Langlois
Overall - Decent starting group, but we will need Davis or Langlois to become a factor. I've seen enough of Toles to not have confidence in him.

Edge - Mike Jones
After that its not even worth going into. You are largely unproven with this group. Alot of 4 stars highly recruited that really haven't done anything. Antoine Sampah, Greg Penn, Philiip Webb, Josh White. Have to bank on 2 of those guys being good players, or you will be looking at transfers/true freshman.

DE - BJ Ojulari
DL - Joseph Evans
DL - Jaquelin Roy
DE - Maason Smith
Reserves - Jacobian Guillory, Saivion Jones
Overall - By far the best group on the defense. I feel confident that with another year your reserves will get better, and hopefully you can rotate consistently. Plus a Wiggins coming in would help a ton if we can get him.

Defense probably needs a transfer at LB and CB, but other than that we can probably supplement with freshman and hope the rest of the guys improve. Should be a top 50 defense with a competent coordinator.

Year one: 8-4
Year two: 10-2 (chance of 11-1)
Year three: 11/12 wins and playoff spot

Year four and beyond: see year three as the standard.

Agreed. The other 3 games was a total defensive collapse, but we were so close in the games that you mentioned.
