Football players aren't required to be that high, but they certainly don't let just anyone in either. I've seen an average around 1100 claimed.

They also don't have reduced course loads in the fall during football season I've been told. Some players that do pass admissions don't want to bust their arse with the required academics.

Interesting fact-The last time ND won a NC they allowed Prop48 players. They have boosted admissions consistently ever since the early 90's.

Other schools also require above the NCAA minimum for admission. When is the last time you heard hoodspeak from a player at ND, Stanford, NW, WI, etc? They, and some others, require above the min.
