Brian Kelly from ND to LSU... recruiting the Catholic school community to LSU?

Could the hiring of Brian Kelly to LSU be a non-verbal way of letting LSU faithful know they are trying to recruit more kids from the Baton Rouge and New Orleans Catholic school community?
It may be a reach out to schools like Rummel, Holy Cross, St. Aug., BR-Catholic, Shaw, etc to look more into getting the parents to get their kids to look at LSU for not just football, but other sports as well; also coming to LSU to major in STEM and other majors.
Could this hiring all be a play in this? Why would BK leave ND anyways? He had everything he needed there. Why start over with us and come to a conference that has no patience for you to grow as a coach and demands to "Win Now" or leave?

We get a lot of those kids anyway if we want them.
I think They’re a little under scouted
But Chase Moore and Fulton we’re all top Rummel guys we wanted and got.
We have an insane history with St Aug.
Obviously Catholic has been good to us

B/c LSU was the only school willing to pay him like 4x what he was making at ND. That’s why he came. I don’t blame him one bit.

We already get most of the kids we want from these schools. Kids we don’t get that we want are looking for a different type of college experience at a better academic school than LSU.
I think they are looking for a new culture at LSU and to try to build a more respectable student athlete culture in the program rather than selling it as NFLSU and have kids come in looking to jump ship early and opt out to concentrate on the draft and all the other ills we have been experiencing. Looking for. A team culture

LSU is the largest Catholic school in the country.

For skill position and defensive players, Louisiana ha an insane amount of talent and LSU recruits itself. I'm more interested to see how he recruits the north and midwest for O-linemen regardless of their religious affiliation. Can you imagine Louisiana RB and WR talent with a stout ND or Wisconsin type of OL opening holes for the running game and holding blocks to give our QBs time to go through their progressions?

I think LSU is already there to be honest. Use Jesuit as an example. They typically graduate about 250 kids a year, with somewhere around 100-130 going to LSU of that total and the vast majority of the rest being one-off attendees who want to get away or are going to a niche academic program. The next biggest groups of attendees are typically a dozen or so to Alabama, Ole Miss, and ULL. Holy Cross, Rummel, Brother Martin, St Paul's have similar splits. Catholic of BR is even more LSU-slanted.
From an athletic standpoint, if LSU wants a guy, they are typically eager to attend from any of the Catholic schools. Rarely do they get poached. That's definitely been the case in baseball (Morgan, Helmers recently with a laundry list over time) and has generally been the case with football (Fournette, Matheiu, Chase, Fulton, Clapp, Moreau come to mind recently).
This probably is a larger discussion of the direction of LSU's academics and TOPS, but nearby SEC institutions, especially Bama and Ole Miss, have become much more aggressive with the academic scholarship packages they offer to draw kids out of state.
