Confused about Napier

So people on this site swore against the idea of LSU hiring Napier because they thought Riley is the golden child. Now that Napier is going to the SEC people are worried he’s going to build a monster. Is the little brother school factor really that big? C’mon man

100% because he deserves it. Just blows me away how because of him having ULL listed on his résumé turned a lot of LSU fans off.

Most rational people understand Woodward wasn’t interested in Napier for whatever reason. I like Napier but I think LSU can and will hire a better coach.

There seem to be a few people that are concerned about Napier going to Florida, but I don't get the sense that most are very concerned. Mullen was much more accomplished on a higher level, and LSU didn't have much trouble with him.
Napier may be a really good coach, but I, and others, won't fret a bit if he winds up in Gainesville.

I think you are vastly underestimating him. The guy managed the clock well, coaches the way Sean Payton coaches in regards to what personnel he has and adapts the game to the players, and built a huge staff at ULL. Given the money he will have available at UF, you should be worried he locks down a state that had been good to us.

I have been saying, and also of the opinion that Napier has the highest ceiling of any of the candidates. The guy just knows how to call a game. That is not a teachable skill, it’s mostly intuitive. I have repeatedly said for weeks that LSU needs to hire him before one our yearly opponents does. We are going to suffer recruiting by losing O. Napier was the best option to hold court and maybe be better in that area.
