I will say, Trump was pretty much the only political figure who stepped out there "on the record" in defense of Rittenhouse. Said it looked to him like he was just defending himself and likely would've died had he not done what he did. Sure, he also gave the standard line about "but it is an ongoing investigation" but that's completely reasonable in the situation. And Trump made that statement (during a press conference) very early on. So his instincts were solid on that, as they often are.
So that was probably pretty big to Rittenhouse that Trump did that when he seemed very much on his own.

I'll pose for a picture with any President if given the chance. That's more of a bucket list prestige item than anything else.

I had my picture taken with Jimmy Carter, I am a hard core conservative, and believe that until now Carter was the worst president ever, but he was still a president, and the photo hangs on my office walk.
