Serious question: what are you gonna do if Napier is the next Scott Frost? Are you going to sit through 4 years of failure while he builds his vision? Napier might be great, but I thought UF's program was too elite to take that kind of risk. Mullen, despite how it turned out, was a logical and scary hire at the time. Napier is a game of Russian Roulette.

Urban Meyer came from Bowling Green and Utah. Hiring any coach not named Saban is a risk.

What you are missing is the interview process. Sure, if we are making the hire based only on what we fans know, then Napier is a similar risk as Mullen was. But if Woodward is a good recruiter he will carefully interview the prospects and pick the man who has greatness in his veins. That’s what Mark Emmertt did with Saban. Hopefully Woodward has that capacity.
