Any recommendations for seasoning a Blackstone for the first time?

light coat of oil. turn on all the burners. after it stops smoking , repeat. i did it 7 times before i ever cooked anything.
then cooked 2 lbs of bacon.

36 inch. So season with vegetable or olive oil then fresh bacon before I cook anything else?

well, that's what i did. and i give it another coat after cooking and cleaning.
just an fyi on the 36 inch blackstone. the legs are designed to fold in. i'm assuming for storage reasons. and the only thing that keeps the legs upright is the bottom shelf and 2 thumb screws.
Those screws can rattle loose. and the legs can collapse.
happened to me and the thing did a nose dive .

Choose an oil with a high smoke point like avocado oil.
Then Bacon, lots of bacon.

I find grapeseed oil works very well for seasoning. Then a lot of bacon
