He is not my number 1 choice.
But if LSU hired him I would be perfectly fine and even happy with it.
He is just a damn good coach, that would be solid, not embarrass the program, and get the D running on all cylinders.
He's also the opposite of Ed O and Les Miles, which would be VERY welcome. He's a smart, thoughtful guy.
And a good coach.

And beyond being a good coach, he is a coach who has shown willingness to grow and evolve. Last year, he was one of the worst in the country in terms of managing FG/Punt/4th down strategy--consistently being hyper-conservative and consistently leaving points on the board as a result. Basically, he was head coaching like a defensive coordinator. This year, he has completely changed up and consistently has shown smart, modern, aggressive decision-making ability.
The important thing isn't even conservative football versus aggressive football--it's the fact that he had a very clear weakness in his approach, and he has made a deliberate, conscious effort to improve upon that shortcoming. This is the same quality that makes Saban the GOAT.

Honestly, to me, these are some of the biggest Pros. I'd love a no nonsense kind of coach after what we've seen for the last 15 years.

This though I think people underestimate how good of a coach he is. He might not be flashy like Kiffin but IMO he is equally as effective and has proven it over time.
