Biden appointing Mitch Landrieu an attempt to raise Landrieu's profile...

The Democrats have a weak bench. Most of their national leaders are 70+ years old.
However, if Mitch Landrieu is the best they can come up with (probably Cedric Richmond's idea), then they are totally screwed.
Mitch couldn't get elected statewide in Louisiana, ever again. He fricked up New Orleans with his gutting of the NOPD and his racist statue shite. Now, NOLA has been changed forever and not for the best.
Giving him any control of this money is no different than giving his drunk driving son keys to a Ferrari.
The Landrieu political machine is a like a cockroach, it seems to be able to survive the worst disasters.

Well yea they just re-elected Latoya so obviously they’d elect anyone with a D. Pretty sure that’s why he stated statewide election

Louisiana seems to have some weird ties to this administration and and relationship with corruption.

Not a Richmond or Mitch fan, but this is good news for Louisiana and NOLA specifically. We will get a lot more than our fair share of this boondoggle.

The best was Oliver Thomas, who was convicted of accepting bribes while in office as a City Councilmember, is in a runoff for one of the seats on the same City Council he served while accepting bribes. This City is beyond hope.

Isn't Mitch the one who spearheaded the boondoggled airport? From what I remember, he presented a funding budget which was overrun by billions, and a project which was completed years late. Every contractor and politician, bureaucrat, and planner received millions in kickbacks and Landrieu, himself is alleged to have diverted millions of funding Into offshore accounts under the control of an LLC, of which he was a part.
This man, not to mention his entire family, is a crook. He even has that sleazy, unctuous look about him, like a slippery, oily mob boss. A greaser. This is exactly the kind of appointment I would expect from the Biden administration. There will be mismanagement and graft under Landrieu watch and he will continue to "fail upwards".
