Is there any advantage to living in the neighborhood from a golf perspective?
Can you use your own cart? Are they allowed on the roads (if street legal)?

I'm not positive, but I don't think there is any advantage to living in SM due to the course being a BREC facility.

Advantages - No
Can you own a GC - Yes / Can you use it on the course - Absolutely fricking not
I know many people in that neighborhood who own a GC and drive it on the streets.

So that convenience of living in a golf community isn't available. Sucks, but I get it.
What options in the south BR Metro are a true golf community? UClub/CCLA? Maybe Pelican Point in AP?

They don't have a trail fee system?

Any idea how frowned upon it is to walk on a hole and play if you have a house on the course and are a BREC member? Only when it's slow - of course.
I'm trying to figure out what it's going to be like if we move there.

You pay like everyone else. I lived on a course in pelican point and there wasn’t any advantages other than living close to the course

Are there people that drive their personal carts to the parking lot, swap their clubs and go play? I would think if you have annual pass, and a cart plan you could just book a tee time and show up...

"Booking a tee time" sounds easier than it is at times.

When I lived in pelican point - if your golf cart was a certain color or met the course requirements or guidelines you could just use your own cart.

Just busy. It's the only decent golf course in the city. It gets a lot of play, especially when most people want to play. You can get on, you just have to book early.
