No Republican candidate.
She (a Socialist) must have REALLY screwed the pooch between the primary and general.
How the hell did she get the nomination?

Probably a party machine where someone with the right pull gets the nomination regardless as to how many votes they could get.
Which honestly sounds fairly familiar from the Dems.

The pendulum is swinging back as it always does.

Isn't she the one whose husband got arrested for some drug shenanigans?

NY Post article on primary win
Don’t know what else turned up about her but apparently the AOC idiots organized for her while the multi-term incumbent ran a quiet race and refused to debate her.

That was Lovely Warren in Rochester. She was running for reelection until the bottom dropped out with her estranged husband's drug charges as well as charges of child endangerment.

So here is the gist of it- Byron Brown has been the incumbent since 2005. For years no one even bothered running against him because it was a forgone conclusion that he was going to win.
Primary happens in early 2020, less than 20,000 people bothered to vote. Walton wins a surprise victory with 51% of the votes. Buffalo essentially woke up to the fact that there was a strong possibility that they may have a self avowed socialist as mayor, and now Republicans, Independents, and Democrats are teaming together to write in Byron Brown.

I think the socialist won the primary so the Dims ran a sore loser write in campaign and ballot harvested. They apparently had ink stamps for the operation.

Thanks for posting this. I forgot to check back on it. He lost the primary to her and she’s running unopposed now. His whole campaign was a write in campaign and I hoped it would do well. He’s a Dem but not as far left with the progressive agenda. He’s the only barometer there of how happy/unhappy the electorate is there with the progressive agenda.

The race for mayor in Buffalo between India B. Walton, a democratic socialist, and the incumbent, Mayor Byron W. Brown, a Democrat, has become the most closely watched race in the state. Mr. Brown, a former state Democratic Party chairman, lost to Ms. Walton in the primary and is running as a write-in candidate. The Associated Press will tabulate all write-in votes together on election night.
Dude got primaried so he ran as a write-in and will win as an Independent

See thats the weird part, I wouldn't even say he was "primaried" in the sense there was never overwhelming support for her. People just sort of forgot that there was a primary going on and just didn't vote.
