Why not a lot of love for Aranda?

Maybe I'm missing something as I only occasionally come on here, but every time I see Aranda's name there's always a "we could do worse" or "he's a solid backup plan". I also saw someone say Aranda won't be a candidate. I fully expected to come here and see him as a top 3 wishlist guy for LSU fans.
He's only 45, hungry, and proven he can recruit for LSU and play D at LSU. The question was how would he do as HC, and after one weird COVID year in the dumpster fire in Wacco, he's got BAYLOR ranked #16 and trending up.
Do people think he's not flashy enough? When was the last time an elite coach jumped from one sweet gig to another and it paid off? It happens less often than people think. If I'm LSU I run away from guys like Riley, Cristobal, and Day, and you don't need Fisher or Franklin. None of those guys come hungry enough, IMO.
If I'm an LSU fan and my life depends on getting a guy who will win national championships, take over the SEC when Saban retires in the next couple of years, and builds a system/program that will contend for championships for the next decade plus, I'm looking for someone young, brilliant, and hungry. Someone who has done more with less so when they're handed the keys to the LSU Ferrari they appreciate it and can't wait to get in.
If I'm Woodward, first I make Joe Brady a Godfather offer. Next I look at Aranda and Napier. Then I take a shot at a couple of Chris Petersen guys that are building solid programs out west in Jonathan Smith (Oregon State) and Justin Wilcox (Cal) as long as they have strong SEC/Louisiana ties on staff. I'm convinced that if you hand any of these men the keys to LSU the program will be in great hands.

I think he would be a decent candidate, we just don’t really know if he can recruit also he doesn’t have a lot of head coaching experience yet

I think the recruiting capability is a concern for some. I'm not sure how great of a recruiter he was since he was the DC and the HC is the final deal maker.
Sounds like concerns around Aranda on the recruiting side. Is he going to be somebody that will stay on the phone with these recruits and make connections and be a salesman? I'm not sure.
I would like Aranda....definitely over Kiffin, but I'd want a for sure OC to come in with him. I don't want to be an all defense team like we have had in the past.

If Aranda is hired he will average over 10 wins a season and likely have two national championships in 5 years.

According to 247 Aranda was directly responsible for getting 2 five stars, 23 four stars, 25 three stars and 1 two star to commit.
He gets good players. He is not a showboater and he gets results.

I think your post is fine except for the Brady stuff. Brady has never had HC responsibility and LSU is not a place for on the job training. See our current OC and DC scenario. Also, he had Steve E to lean on and help him. Not to mention a generational qb w star studded wr and RB.
I think Aranda is too intelligent to fail. He proved his ability to communicate w players while he was here and I think his recruiting knock doesn't really hold water.
Big bonus is he is intimately familiar w all that is LSU and he is a true professional and would be a great coach to represent LSU.
I think how the next three weeks play out vs UT and OU will shed more light.

I think that dude is driven and brilliant. I think that is good for recruiting.
Others have reservations about recruiting and I admit he has very little HC experience.
I believe he would do amazing things as LS HC. I do understand the reservations others have, however.

I’m not an expert by any means. I’m no insider at all.
But I just have a feeling, Aranda will be an elite coach at an elite school somewhere. May as well be here.
He’s my personal favorite, but who knows.
