It does not take 3 months for professional athletes to get in game shape if they need to be. Around Thanksgiving time at the latest if there are no setbacks is perfectly reasonable. That will be 6 weeks of full go ramp up.

what you fail to recognize, is you are lied to constantly, and you choose to believe things that likely aren't true, but your optimism leads you to believe it anyway.

Do we even know what specifically is wrong with him, other than he had surgery on his foot? They can't even bother to tell us when it happened, or how it happened, or what the diagnosis even is, or give a timetable of when to expect him back. What kind of shite is that?
his foot is hurt and we don't know when he'll be back? do you not remember this same exact crap last year?
All we know is it happened working out before summer league (whatever that means), he had surgery, and he's expected back for the regular season (which has to be one of the most bull shite statements about a return i've ever heard)

Our GM is a lying sack of shite, and he'll straight up lie to the fan base b/c he knows if he came out and said Zion's time table is January, fans would go apeshit and ticket sales would falter even more than they already have.
When you don't have good news to tell your customer, you generally avoid telling the whole truth, and give vague answers to distract from the reality of the situation. When you have good news, you have no problem whatsoever letting your customer (fanbase) know about it in detail.

none of us have any idea when he'll be back, but the fact that we know nothing, would lead me to believe he isn't returning soon.

We do know what the injury is.

Pelicans executive David Griffin revealed Monday that Williamson recently had surgery to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot.

Occam's Razor suggests that Griffin was honest in saying that Zion broke his pinky toe. There's no reason to make up an injury to mask another injury. Occam's Razor also suggests that the reason that Zion's recovery is taking a little longer than that of other athletes is that he's overweight, and Griff doesn't want to talk about Zion being overweight, because he doesn't want to piss Zion off.

He's not on crutches right now. Reporters have seen him doing drills. Aaron Nelson isn't trying to redo all of Zion's biomechanics right now, and Zion wouldn't allow that to happen even if he did.

Zion wants to get on the court soon, and the team wants him on the court soon. During Zion's rookie season, we could afford to hold him out, because there was nothing at stake that season -- there's plenty at stake now, and everyone thinks that making the playoffs is critical.

So, there's no reason whatsover to think that Zion will be out another full month, because if he can run and do drills now, he should be ready to play in about three weeks -- that's just obvious stuff.
