It’s seems the glaring issue here is they have checked BMs paper work every year and have never said anything. BM changed nothing, hid nothing, and now randomly the LHSAA says they are doing something wrong? That doesn’t pass the smell test

Sounds like someone knew BM was doing it wrong and contacted the LHSAA and told them what to look for.

maybe no other players were close to that thresh hold in the past when they were checked.

2 issues with your assessment:

1) I went to a catholic HS in Nola and played HS football years ago and not a single player on our team was even close to being academically ineligible (Probably why we were average af). Basically I am saying that BM probably hasn't had many , if any, players close to ineligibility so their method of calculation probably wasn't ever truly tested.

2) Have you ever been audited? One auditor might overlook something but the next year, if a new auditor is assigned, they might see the same thing and have issue with it.

I worked as an auditor for a bit and I went to a company that just didn't record property donations on their books at all. They said "The house was free so it doesn't have a cost to put on the books." The previous auditor bought that but I knew that he needed to record the value of the house as in kind revenue and a depreciable asset. Point is, just because one person lets you slide doesn't mean that you are any less at fault if the next person finds your mistake.

Wasnt BroMart accused of illegally recruiting players a couple years ago or was that another catholic school?
