Too unnecessarily rude .. wish I hadn't read. You think you are being a dick or something because the guy has an opinion on baseball starters?

Nap (or nicholastiger if you see this), what do you know or have heard about Reyzelman besides just what we have seen in scrimmages? Do you know if Johnson and Kelly see him as a possible Friday night guy or at least a weekend starter like a good portion of fans?
It's fall, so I get what I'm about to say will sound very much like reading into things; but I'm just curious. Because I've noticed they've never had him starting any of the scrimmages and appear to be using pretty much the same guys consistently, which several of them are ones we thought were candidates to possibly start (eg Fontenot, Cooper, Coleman, I think Lansville has a couple times, etc.). Also he has started stretching a lot of those same guys out going 3+ innings with them, whereas Reyzelman has thrown less and in the middle of all the games except the first, when he threw last I believe.
Also, the beat writer for The Advocate last week said that Johnson mentioned in an interview that Reyzelman "adds depth to the pitching staff". Again, I know I'm probably reading into something here, but when I typically hear managers say that a pitcher "adds depth" to me that signifies a bullpen guy more than a possible frontline starter or ace.
Any thoughts?

This is an example of why I like to watch the zooms and not just rely on the beat writer's interpretation. That was a paraphrase, not a quote.
To the people in this thread, Johnson saying Reyzelman adds depth isn't necessariky a good thing. So your question is very warranted.
I don't remember the exact quote, but it was a much more positive context. He didn't say he was going to be a weekend starter or anything definitive, but he was complimenting Reyzelman and his expected contribution.

The only experiments we have seen none of so far would be Crews behind the plate, Dugas in the infield, Pearson in the infield.

He's waiting until next year to mirror Buster Posey.

Under Dandydon related articles today they have a sports illustrated article on him. I will try to link it when I get home. There wasn't anything we don't already know it though.
I believe he actually started the first two weekends but hasn't pitched more than 2 innings.

Appreciate the response.
Completely agree with you here. Where did you find the audio or video of the interview? I had looked for it on YouTube and LSU's site, but couldn't find it anywhere.

Some people posted links to it here. I think Tigerbait put the video on Youtube. I don't have the link handy, I apologize, but you should be able to find them on Tigerbait's profile on youtube.
It's two videos. One with Jay, Doughty, and Jobert. And then another one with Reyzelman.

Got it. Thanks! I forgot they will sometimes record and post the stuff.
As a side note, I wish there were DM's here (so as not to derail the thread), but wanted to get your thoughts on Marmol for the Cards? And my buddy and I have been talking and trying to find anything that gives more explanation on why they got rid of Shildt. Figured if anyone might know anything more, it would be you.

Marmol will be fine. He'll do whatever the front office tells him to do.
The only thing I can tell from listening to local radio is that tension with Shildt started back around the time Flaherty got hurt and the lack of moves to bolster the pitching staff.
But there didn't seem to be a plan to fire him until they had the year end meetings and apparently he said something that really pissed Mozeliak off.
My guess is that the Cardinals again won't be a big player in the free agent market and Shildt wasn't happy when he was told that. That's just my own speculation.

I’ve only been to one scrimmage personally and he didn’t pitch that day. I don’t think they are anywhere close to settling on the weekend rotation. I think they are being cautious with him this fall coming off of the injury and him pitching all summer in the Cape

Lester, out of curiosity, did you get a chance to update these and I just missed it somewhere last night?

Skip tinkered with line ups a lot also. Typically happens when you have depth and need to keep guys ready for play.

I have the weekend tallied I just need to put them in my spread sheet
McManus was the hitting star of the weekend, going:
4-7, 2HR, 2B, 6rbi, BB
