Of all the reasons New Orleans residents should have been outraged over the past few decades, shortening a parade route is the straw that broke the camel’s back. The same cop shortage has led to many other issues in the city without much hubbub but a shorter parade and possibly requiring other krewes to change their routes is a bridge too far!!!

I don’t think anyone really gives a shite about shortening a Halloween parade. It’s what it means in terms of what will probably end up happening with Mardi Gras. And personally, I couldn’t give a shite about Mardi Gras because I go out of town to get away from it, but I do care about how it impacts the city and it’s private businesses financially.

Meanwhile, car jackings all over the city, robberies and assaults and not a peep from the residents about the increase in crime.
