I need to try this!
What kind of cognac do you guys use? Or do you sub it with anything else? I can honestly say I’ve never purchased any before.
Also, what do you guys get to store it?

I bought some cheap Armagnac from Martin's to use and I store it in 16oz Ball jars.

I used Pierre Franand cognac ($40), Smith and Cross jamaican rum ($25) and Elijah Craig bourbon ($25). My advice is don't go cheap on this, but you don't need to go breaking the bank either. Cognac is by nature a bit pricier than rum and bourbon, so that $40 is about equivelent to the $25. I have made this with cheaper spirits in the past, and I promise you it makes a major difference. Since it is so boozy, you want to make sure you are using liquor that has high quality flavor. You will be glad you did in the end.
