Are people writing off Durante and Co. as potential candidates?

Peetz. I'm sure he is trying to throw his hat into the ring right now, and I don't blame him. After yesterday's performance, its easy to see why. He really got the offense going this past week and has engineered the gameplan that yielded the best single rushing performance in LSU history (TDP). Since we are trending in the upward direction, Peetz would have an easy time carrying over his momentum into next year with O out of the way. Also, his promotion could lure Joe Brady back into Baton Rouge as the new offensive coordinator. The best programs promote from within.

Yes, I am writing all of the assistants not named Raymond off.

In fact, I hope Durante and Co. are renting in BR and didn’t buy.

Peetz actually called a pretty good game vs UF, but that doesn’t really matter at this point. If he had made some of these adjustments 4 weeks ago and they had worked just as well, then you might have some kind of argument to make. But we all know that’s not what happened.

The reality is the offense was so bad that O stepped in and had to tell Peetz what to do. Hell, for all we know, E or Brad Davis may be partially responsible for some of these new run plays and the changes in blocking. This looks nothing like how we ran the ball prior to the UK game or anything we did under Brady, so what would make you think Peetz is solely responsible?

I’m glad Peetz can call a better game now that we can get some semblance of balanced play-calling, but he can’t get full credit for it now. Week 7 is too late for a pat on the back for nice adjustments after being the worst SEC rushing offense this century before that.
