He was out of Western Nebraska JC, as a new born his mom a hooker and her pimp boyfriend tossed him in a dumpster, a passer by heard him crying.

As an NFL rookie in 1952 he intercepted 14 passes in 12 games which is still an NFL record. He also played a little offense.

One of the legends of NFL football.

Yep, inspired by Trevon Diggs

The chances of anyone having this life is very VERY small, he's genuinely one of a kind

He had a lot of interceptions but he is equally known for his vicious clothes line tackles - he used to put receivers out the game often. The softness of the league now has to make him nauseated.

I thought this thread was going to be about Kiffin's time at Alabama.

NFL films had a segment on him back in the day. Guy was mean as frick; patented move was a clothesline to the throat. Total brutality.

Yes he is but was thinking about Diggs and his shot at the record.

Night Train was a head hunter a very bad man.

Ah....27 INT's his first three seasons or 36 games.

My god, 3 minutes of night train lane narrated by Peter Coyote. Might not get this boner down for a bit.

Right, that was something I somehow didn't inquire about. I knew he did, curious why.

This may sound like a crazy comparison but I liken Night Train to Moses Malone of the NBA: both weren't articulate when speaking, both were exceptionally dominant when they played, both were nomads in their respective sports in the age before free agency, both never caused public trouble in their personal lives (that I know of), both weren't locker room cancers (as far as I know), and both are all-time greats. Checks out to me.

I see it and neither went to a University, we have a high school and JC education here.

Little trivia, what stud footballer had no college at all, yep...high school to pro football.

"There's never been a good tackle below the eyebrows."

My God. That is insane.

I believe his INT record is the only NFL record left over from the 1950s.

That's crazy considering the number of pass attempts has skyrocketed
