After reading through the comments and pros/cons, I think besides the long shots the best potential realistic hires:
Fickell or Aranda
I prefer Fickell because he has good coaching pedigree and has quickly proven production at Cincy against bigger programs! He's not afraid to go toe to toe with the "giants" which is the attitude LSU needs in the Saban/Bama era! Every time I've watched Cincy play against big programs, I'm impressed with Fickell's coaching!
However, I would also love to see the professor take over LSU football and do well! I wouldn't be at all upset if it was Aranda!
Second tier in order (kinda settling for them)
Either Stoops, Napier, Matt Campbell or Gary Patterson.
Almost anyone else is either disappointing or gambling on off the field issues!

Saban hire is NOT going to happen . His legacy is at Alabama . They will give him any amount of $$$ he wants . He burns that legacy ( and alumni assn connections / help for his kids / relatives ) to the GrOUND if he leaves . He is TOO OLD to start anew . It takes alot of energy and relative youth ( no old coots ) to build a program .

I am surprised the name Josh McDaniels not showing up in the list. I think he's pretty good play calling and in game adjustment.

This list needs to be updated. Elevate Jimbo off of the long shot list.

List of potential candidates by Bjorn Cyborg
If you’re going to list candidates, then list them.
Don’t editorialize about who is hireable and who is not.
It should be a starting point for commentaries on each coach.

Why is Cristobal considered a long shot? I think he should be higher on the list. He seems like the closest thing to a nick saban clone
I’ve also heard he’s the one on Bama’s radar for when saban finally hangs it up.

Lincoln Riley was actually here in town this week. Maybe he was just visiting family though.
