They absolutely were NOT throwing that flag 20 years ago. Ask Laron…
the game has changed

Play with emotion, but don’t be emotional.

Actually I meant 30 plus years ago. Maybe I'm wrong regarding college, in the late 80s I remember very well in HS, a teammate getting flagged for doing the exact same thing. It was just a personal foul, I don't remember it being called taunting

Agree. My son and I have been saying that the players sometimes spend more energy celebrating their play than they do making the play. An honest show of emotion is fine but taunting in any form or jumping on your own players is bs.

Did Raymon keep playing because of depth?
Our two best DBs are out for the year, so probably so.

it’s an emotional game for everyone else too and somehow they manage to not deliberately do the one thing you know you can’t do

ACT like you've been there before. Why does everyone try to shove it in the face of their opponent and act like trash. This guy has barely played for LSU.
NOW, once you've arrived (Larry Bird in his prime comes to mind) you can talk some smack for sure. But still not enough to be penalized...

Come on the Brad Wing taunting call was weak. And he was a punter who ran like a 60+ yard touchdown.
In this case the QB threw a bad pass and the receiver missed it. I don’t even know what he was standing over him for. He didn’t break the pass up. He was just there. Then put the team in a bad spot with his stupid flexing and stepping over the guy.

Nope. Maybe 10 years ago he could’ve stood over him and did what he did but nowadays you can’t. Game has gotten soft.
So was it soft or not?

I don’t recall seeing him play after that

The Wing taunt shouldn’t have been called; it wasn’t aggressive or anything. Standing over a guy is a little much I’ll admit.
Yep, that rule is somewhat subjective. It’s better to just be professional when you make a big play.

Aside from this play, this was the first game so far ive been proud of iur D for handling business and NOT acting like a gang of immature thugs in between plays. Most of the time they act like theyd rather squad up after the game for a home invasion than fill their gaps. This week they played with humility and discipline and they did a great job

Of all the penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct I have seen over the years, that had to be the worst use of that penalty.

You're totally missing the point. Sportsmanship still counts - at least to me.

On the interception he was not straddling the player on the ground
Proper discipline is to remove player for a series the run him til he pukes at practice
