He has been back and forth and I thought last week was his worst game at LSU. But he made big plays yesterday and made really good decisions. He is 5th in the nation in TDs. We only threw 24 times yesterday and 3 of those passes were TDs (another was called back).

He has had 28 passing TDs to 5 Ints. in his career so far. Those are great numbers. His accuracy and mechanics are still clearly issues that he needs to continue to work on, but he also makes some great throws/big plays at times. Between last year and this year, he has helped LSU win 3 SEC games where we were missing two of our top WRs (and last year we won those games without both of the top RBs too).

Max in 2 games vs Florida without his best WRs:

6 passing TDs
0 Ints.

Florida QBs the last 2 games vs. LSU

6 passing TDs
6 Ints.

I agree with all of this.

With better support Max can be a very good QB for LSU and lead the team to successful seasons. Some folks on here get very sensitive if you critique a player/coach's performance/talent. I like Max and started this thread to credit what he's done. That doesn't mean I won't also discus his flaws/limitations or where he needs to improve.
