okay, so it's political. The issue is for all the "small government" talk on the right, outside of outliers like Rand Paul not a soul is willing to do anything like advocating for the rise of interest rates, ending QE, or lowering the national debt. This is because they know the stock market will crash, they know their favorite pet projects like military spending won't get funded, and they know it is likely politically suicidal because that's a lot of short term pain for long term gain but we vote on short term emotions.

It's the far easier path to just let inflation take care of our national debt, and it also just so happens that this path creates more wealth inequality so policy makers are fine with that because they are wealthy.

The right vs left debates as they traditionally unfold are a distraction. We're all getting ripped off, this system is broken beyond repair.
