The Reveille wrote an editorial about it today (that I don't agree with).

How about the PC point of the article. What does it matter, really, what a dim-witted sideline broadcaster has to say about anything? Really.

Concussions are serious. The staff did the right thing by sitting Mr. Hatch down. Having two concussions in a short period can result in life threatening brain swelling.

In viewing the replay, I think he was hit by his lineman's knee on his way down. It was immediately clear that he was confused when he got up. I think he did a number of thing well, for what it's worth but if JL continues to play as he did in the 2nd half on the Plains of Aubieland AH may not see the field again.

Just the way I see it.

I heard it on the replay yesterday. But its pretty stupid to say something like that. Its not like anyone of any religion would not be totally sober in that position.

Use this to get rid of her and find someone that looks better.

Yep...not only Holly's comments but the other commentators as well. They just kept going on and on with making light of his injury. Would they do the same with a knee or spinal cord injury? Then, when teams attempt to protect the injured player by blocking the camera view, they get all upset about "hiding" the situation. It was all very tasteless.

That Revielle article is ridiculous. Her comment was funny and a concussion is not very serious anyway.

The Reveille should be ashamed for wasting an hour of their day and 3 minutes of my time over something that insignificant.

I'll be honest, I laughed at the "how many fingers am I holding up? Thursday." line by Ron Franklin.

That said, if you put yourself in the shoes of the family of Hatch, it's pretty horrifying. Think about how little sense of humor you have about hurricane jokes. These players don't get paid. And if they get hurt, that's pretty awful. Especially for the family sitting at home watching their child, brother, or cousin watching it.

It's bad enough that they have to watch their loved one be hurt. It only adds to the pain to have the announcers make fun of it.

I doubt I'd write that article, but I can see their point.

concussions can be very serious and they suck and i had 5 or 6 growing up and still get headaches. but that doesn't mean you cant say something funny when somebody gets knocked silly i just wish it was their qb we could have joked about.
