GOP support for Trump surges, most reject anti-Trump critics

Support among Republicans for former President Donald Trump and his likely 2024 bid is surging, as is the rejection of any who decry him, according to new polling.

Instead of losing ground with Republicans, especially after leaving office, the Pew Research Center found that Trump is gaining and that nearly half want him to run again.

What’s more, most Republicans want Trump to remain the party’s major leader and spokesman.

“The share of Republicans who say Trump should continue to be a major national figure has grown 10 percentage points — from 57% to 67% — since a January survey that was conducted in the waning days of his administration and in the immediate wake of the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol,” said Pew in its survey shared with Secrets.

And in the latest sign of how the former president has turned the GOP into his own support group, two-thirds of Republicans told Pew that “their party should not be accepting of elected officials who criticize Trump.”

Desantis is doing a great job too. In fact better than Trump IMO. It's that Trump persona takes up the entire political space so it's difficult to see the other guys pushing back.

This is just another sign that there is a political realignment happening with the parties.

other signs -

Labor Unions moving toward Rep Party - Federalist

Rift between US Chamber Commerce & Rep Party grows deeper - The Hill

It's just a matter of time before a Republican sissy boy comes on the thread and criticizes Trump.

Yeah all the tender hearted GOP goobers are starting to realize that a really fricking poor decision was to RINO up and impede the Trump agenda.

Not because they think they did something wrong, but because it led to an absolute train wreck of an administration.

I think it's fairly obvious to everyone that a realignment is occurring.

White college-educated voters used to be heavily Republican. Over the past 20 years, they've become increasingly Democrat.

According to Pew, white college-educated voters voted for Biden by over 15 points. However, white non-college-educated voters voted for Trump by over 30 points.

College-educated voters in general voted for Biden by over 30 points. But non-college-educated voters voted for Trump by over 8 points.

Voters making over $100,000 voted for Biden by over 13 points. If you had told me that a decade ago, I'd have said you were joking.
