bold statement about getting the running game going

Ed Ingram. If ed would wake up and get mean, the whole line would be better at run blocking. Period.

Shannahan is weak link. He doesn’t get good push imo.

Ed's not a smart man. His drama means nothing.

Teach them to hold and quick release at the point of attack.
Give the runner a little opening. LSU opponents seem to get it.
You hold and release until the refs start consistently calling it.

If they started Kiner there would be a run game

I am disappointed at how he played against UCLA. Inexplicable imo.
The center position is a weak link.

Agreed he spends as much time in the backfield as anyone.

He needed to stay in the Ivy League. Not close to SEC caliber

I’ve seen more from Kiner late in games this year than TDP his entire collegiate career. TDP doesn’t have the ability to make the first tackler miss, and quite frankly doesn’t do anything great. He’s a serviceable backup without a great burst or ability to create yards on broken plays which is the opposite of what’s needed when an Oline doesn’t block.

Unfortunately for him, he would have been great in Miles toss lead north/south run game. TDP has little to no lateral agility.

Ingram has regressed. Shanahan tries hard but isn’t an sec caliber center. He gets no push. Deculus seems to have regressed as well. I sure thought this group would be better but they are just bad

He and Hines get push . Unfortunately it’s straight back into our QB

Absolutely agree, he doesn’t fit LSU’s system.

Last night I was watching some of the MSU game on the DVR and I watched a couple of run plays on frame by frame advance and I was shocked.
First play, 3rd and 1 handoff to TDP off right tackle for the absoluete minimum gain to get the FD. When I did the frame advance the entire OL sat in their two point stance and never advanced an inch. They all waited for the MSU DL to come to them and then tried to seal them off. They never even went after the LB's. This is not 5 guys and a TE not knowing how to block. This was some kind of fricked up line call. I dont know if this was a RPO but did not look like it.
Second play a couple plays after the one above. Zone run? maybe. TDP took the handoff and the entire OL pushed the MSU DL to the left and they pretty much fired out and got the LB's and DL. TDP cut right and turned upfield behind the RT and there was clear run lane in front of him. The safety to the outside of the play came in and hit TDP and he folded like a paper suit after a gain of about 6.
Net summary here (JMHO) is that some of LSU's run game scheme is fricked up scheme or calls and trying to run out of the gun with OL in two point passive stances.

Vision. He’s got enough shift and strength to get away from guys, but his vision is critical when holes are hard to come by. That shows up no matter who the opponent is. If you can’t see that, I don’t know what to tell you.
